Privacy policy

Netspilavíti.is is a static website with no user accounts, no tracking cookies and no advertising networks. The only personal data we hold is what you send us by email. This page explains that in the detail the law requires.

Who is responsible

Netspilavíti.is is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. Contact details are on the contact page.

What the website collects

Nothing that identifies you when you browse. The site is a set of static pages. There is no login, no registration, no comment system and no newsletter. We do not set tracking cookies and we do not use advertising networks.

Anonymous visit statistics. We use a cookieless analytics service that records page views, the referring site, the country derived from the IP address, browser type and screen size. The IP address is not stored and no identifier is placed on your device. The statistics cannot be linked to an individual and are used only to see which pages are read.

Server logs. The hosting provider records standard access logs, including IP address, requested page, time and browser, for security and operational purposes. Logs are retained for a limited period by the provider and are not used by us for profiling.

What we collect when you email us

If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your message. We use this only to reply, to handle corrections and complaints, and to keep a record of correspondence. We do not add you to any list.

Correspondence is retained for up to two years after the matter is closed, then deleted, unless there is a legal reason to keep it longer.

When you follow an affiliate link to a casino, the affiliate network and the casino may record that you arrived from this site, typically using a parameter in the link and cookies set by their own domains. That processing is governed by their privacy policies, not ours. Once you leave this site, we do not receive personal data about you from the casino; affiliate reports we receive are aggregated and do not identify individuals.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as implemented in Iceland by Act No. 90/2018 on Data Protection and the Processing of Personal Data, our legal bases are:

  • Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) for anonymous statistics and server logs, in order to operate and secure the site.
  • Legitimate interest and, where relevant, performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps (Article 6(1)(b)) for handling correspondence you initiate.

We do not process special categories of data and do not make automated decisions about individuals.

Who we share data with

Email correspondence is stored with our email provider. Analytics data is processed by the analytics provider. Both act under contract as processors. We do not sell personal data and do not share it with casinos or affiliate networks.

Where a provider is located outside the European Economic Area, transfers are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Since the only data we hold is email correspondence, a request is usually resolved by deleting the relevant emails. Write to the address on the contact page. We respond within one month.

Complaints

If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you may complain to the Icelandic Data Protection Authority, Persónuvernd, at https://www.personuvernd.is/. You may also complain to the supervisory authority in your own country of residence if different.

Children

The site is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

We will update this page if our practices change. The date at the top shows the current version.
