Editorial policy
This policy sets out how content on Netspilavíti.is is produced, what standards it must meet and how commercial relationships are kept separate from editorial decisions.
Purpose
Netspilavíti.is publishes comparisons, reviews and guides about online casinos available to players in Iceland. The site is commercially funded through affiliate arrangements, described in the affiliate disclosure. This policy exists so that readers can see how the content is produced and judge whether to rely on it.
Independence
Editorial decisions, including which casinos are listed, how they are rated, what reviews say and what guides recommend, are made by the editorial team alone. Operators and affiliate networks have no right to see content before publication, to request changes, or to influence ratings or placement. Commission rates are not disclosed to reviewers and are not a factor in inclusion or ranking.
Staff do not accept payment, gifts, hospitality or other benefits from operators, game providers or payment companies.
Selection of casinos
A casino is considered for inclusion only if it reports a licence that can be traced in the issuing regulator's public register or in regulator-linked review data, does not list Iceland as a restricted country as far as we can establish, and offers at least one deposit and withdrawal method that works from Iceland. Where the licence or availability cannot be confirmed, the review says so. A casino is excluded or removed if its licence lapses, if a pattern of unresolved payment complaints emerges, or if it fails a review on a point relating to player funds.
Inclusion on the site does not constitute a recommendation that any reader should gamble.
Review method
Each review is based on a fixed set of criteria: licence and ownership; payment methods, fees and currency handling from Iceland; withdrawal terms, limits and reported speed; bonus terms including wagering, game contribution and maximum bet; game providers and published RTP; customer support availability and reported quality; complaints history; responsible gambling tools; and mobile usability.
Reviews are desk assessments. Reviewers read the operator's published terms and policies, record the licence as reported, and draw on independent reputation data from Casino Guru, AskGamblers, Trustpilot and similar services together with user reports. Reviewers do not open accounts, deposit or withdraw at the casinos, and reviews do not present figures as our own test results. Where the official terms cannot be read, the review says so and marks the figures as reported.
Ratings are reviewed when a casino's terms, licence or ownership change, and at regular intervals otherwise.
Accuracy
Facts are checked against primary sources where they are accessible: regulators' registers, the operator's own terms and conditions, payment providers' published fees, and Icelandic legislation and official guidance. Where a primary source cannot be reached, we use independent review data and say so. Claims that cannot be verified are removed or clearly qualified. We do not publish statistics we cannot source.
Every page displays the date of its last substantive update.
The legal position in Iceland
Iceland does not license online casinos. Content on this site does not state or imply that any listed casino is licensed, regulated or approved in Iceland, or that gambling at foreign sites is legal for Icelandic residents. The legal position is described as unregulated, readers are told that winnings from foreign gambling are taxable in Iceland, and readers are directed to seek their own advice. Responsible gambling
Content is written for adults aged 18 and over. Pages carry notices about age and responsible gambling and link to SÁÁ, Spilavandi and the Red Cross helpline 1717. Content does not present gambling as a way to make money, does not encourage chasing losses and does not target people who have self-excluded.
Language and tone
Content is written in plain Icelandic and plain English. It avoids superlatives, hype and unsupported claims. Bonuses are described with their terms, not their headline amounts.
Corrections and complaints
Errors are corrected under the corrections policy. Complaints about content should be sent to the address on the contact page and will be answered by the managing editor.

This policy may be revised. The date at the top of the page shows the current version.
